摘要: Monoclonal gammopathy of undetermined significance (MGUS) is a premalignant plasma cell disorder present in more than 3% the general population aged 50 years and older.1,2 MGUS important to clinicians because it associated with 1% per year risk progression multiple myeloma (MM) or related malignancy.3 It also found incidentally during work-up variety symptoms disorders, has confirmed reported associations numerous diseases commonly encountered clinical practice, such as osteoporosis, peripheral neuropathy, venous thrombosis.4 In addition, easily detected on blood tests can be monitored noninvasively, represents readily accessible model study conversion premalignancy malignancy.5 In past several years, new concepts advances have emerged concerning diagnosis, classification, stratification, management MGUS. This commentary highlights discoveries that provide valuable insight into process malignant transformation, well strategies for dealing common which preventive are thwarted by low rates progression.6
