摘要: DNA adenine methylation is widely used to control many transactions, including replication. In Escherichia coli, serves silence newly synthesized (hemimethylated) sister origins. SeqA, a protein that binds hemimethylated DNA, mediates the silencing, and this necessary restrict replication once per cell cycle. The methylation, however, not essential for initiation se but appeared so when origins (oriI oriII) of two Vibrio cholerae chromosomes were drive plasmid in E. coli. Here we show that, as case oriI it drives chromosomal needed once-per-cell-cycle SeqA-dependent fashion. We found oriII also needs SeqA and, additionally, full efficient initiator binding. requirement binding might suffice make an function V. cholerae. structure suggests originated from plasmid, unlike plasmids, makes use replication, norm
