摘要: Background In parturients with increased physiologically intra-abdominal pressure (IAP) and a short stature, greater cephalad spread of spinal anesthesia is often observed after fixed amount plain bupivacaine administered. Therefore, we designed this prospective study to test whether IAP vertebral column length (VCL) were predictors in undergoing cesarean section. Methods A total 113 parturients, all elective sections single-shot anesthesia, enrolled. The L3-L4 interspace was entered, 2 mL 0.5% injected into the subarachnoid space. Upon loss temperature sensation at T4 level, measured through bladder catheter while patient supine position 10°left lateral tilt. Parturient demographic variables, including age, height, weight, IAP, VCL recorded. Linear regressions multiple performed analyze relationships between parturient variables anesthesia. Results 109 included analysis. regression analysis showed significant univariate correlation body mass index (BMI), (all P 0.209). Conclusions Our data indicated that intrathecal bupivacaine, there positive association abdominal girth term parturients.
