摘要: The nuclear receptor PPARγ is a ligand-activated transcription factor that plays an important role in the control of gene expression linked to variety physiological processes. was initially characterized as master regulator for development adipose cells. Ligands include naturally occurring fatty acids and thiazolidinedione (TZD) class antidiabetic drugs. Activation improves insulin sensitivity rodents humans through combination metabolic actions, including partitioning lipid stores regulation inflammatory mediators termed adipokines. signaling has also been implicated cell proliferation, atherosclerosis, macrophage function, immunity. Here, we review recent advances our understanding diverse biological actions with eye toward expanding therapeutic potential agonist
