摘要: Hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) is the most commonly diagnosed malignancy of liver and third frequent cause cancer death worldwide. Although advances in HCC detection treatment have increased likelihood a cure at early stages disease, remains largely incurable because late presentation tumor recurrence. Only 25% patients are deemed suitable for curative treatment, with overall survival just few months inoperable patients. Additionally, this disease particularly difficult to treat high recurrence rate, its chemotherapy-resistant nature premalignant surrounding cirrhotic disease. In past years, compelling evidence has emerged support hierarchic stem cell (CSC)/tumor-initiating (T-IC) model solid tumors, including HCC. Understanding characteristics function CSCs also shed light on management implications prognosis, prediction resistance. review, detailed summary recent progress CSC research regard identification, regulation therapeutic will be discussed.
