摘要: The most important development in radar meteorology, since the introduction of coherent signal processing for Doppler velocity measurements atmospheric motion 1960s, has been application polarimetry to hydrometeor characterization. provide essential information on kinematics while gives major insights into nature hydrometeors within scattering volume. combined use these technologies meteorology resulted a new field investigation termed 'multiparameter radar'. Related are having dramatic impact our understanding mesoscale and cloud physics, addition providing opportunities operational meteorology. latter include monitoring rainfall hydrological forecasting, hail detection microburst nowcasting.
