摘要: Malaria, as a major global health problem, continues to affect large number of people each year, especially those in developing countries. Effective drug discovery is still one the main efforts control malaria. As natural products are considered key source for and development therapeutic agents, we have evaluated more than 2000 plant extracts against Plasmodium falciparum. result, discovered dozens leads that displayed antimalarial activity. Our phytochemical study some these led identification several potent compounds. The prior comprehensive review article entitled “Antimalarial activity metabolites” by Schwikkard Van Heerden (2002) reported structures plant-derived compounds with antiplasmodial covered literature up year 2000. continuation this effort, present covers isolated from plants, including marine 2001 end 2017. During span last 17 years, 175 were plants. These active organized our according their families. In addition, also include ethnobotanical information plants discussed.
