摘要: This study aimed to compare cerebral arteriovenous malformations (AVM) and cavernous (CCM) with regard the immunohistochemical expressions of matrix metalloproteinases (MMP) selected extracellular (ECM) proteins, which have a role in regulation angiogenesis. Fresh-frozen surgical specimens from patients AVM (n = 14) CCM 15) were immunohistochemically stained antibodies for MMP-2, MMP-9, laminin, fibronectin tenascin. To CCM, expression each protein was graded using four-point scoring system histological layer lesion. MMP-2 MMP-9 more strongly expressed vascular walls CCMs compared AVMs all comparable layers: endothelium, subendothelium perivascular space. The stronger MMP other ECM proteins associated early angiogenesis may support hypothesis that occur at an earlier embryogenic stage than AVMs.
