Isospin effects in nucleon inelastic scattering from single-closed-shell nuclei

摘要: Accurate measurements of elastic- and inelastic-scattering differential cross sections are obtained over a wide angular range for 11 MeV neutrons incident on 88Sr, 90Zr 92Mo. The absolute accurate to better than 5%. parameters complex optical potentials were extracted from the elastic-scattering data applied via collective model description first 2+ state each isotope. Deformation βnn′ (and lengths) δ = βR) quadrupole excitations compared with similar (p, p′) same nuclei. results clearly indicate that > βpp′ N 50 isotones, in good agreement theoretical predictions Madsen, Brown Anderson. values used extract isoscalar isovector deformation β0 β1.
