Trends in cervical cancer mortality in the Americas.

摘要: Each year approximately 52000 new cases of cervical carcinoma occur in Latin America and the Caribbean. In contrast to developed countries where incidence cancer has declined over past 30 years there been no such trend America. This study used Pan American Health Organization (PAHO) data estimate mortality trends 14 Americas for which were available at least 10 consecutive number deaths was substantial 75% from all causes registered. Marked declines US Canada have occurred age groups (especially 40-64 group) since 1960; by 1990 rates this cause 1.4 1.7/100000 women respectively. Caribbean with remained fairly constant 1960 about 5-6 deaths/100000 women. Mexico Chile Costa Rica increased time largely among 40 as a result concentration screening efforts on younger attending prenatal or family planning clinics. some declining may be masked improvements death registration accuracy certification. general exhibit large within-country variation reflecting differential access treatment.
