摘要: Previously, we reported that pyrazinamide has very poor bactericidal activity against M. tuberculosis growing in broth at pH 5.6. In the present study, cultivation 4.8 to 5.0 7H12 prevented an increase number of viable bacteria, but cultures remained metabolically active. The presence 50 ng/ml semidormant led a sharp decline by more than 1,000-fold. This unfavorable environment probably made bacilli especially vulnerable pyrazinamide, whose mode action remains unclear. To distinguish this effect on bacteria from its mostly bacteriostatic actively multiplying suggest interpreting vitro as “sterilizing.”
