摘要: In this study, the distribution and prevalence of extended-spectrum β-lactamases belonging to TEM, SHV CTX-M families were estimated among samples Escherichia coli Klebsiella spp. at university hospital Santa Maria, Rio Grande do Sul. Over a 14-month period, 90 microorganisms selected as likely ESBL producers. The isolates subjected confirmatory phenotype tests for presence ESBL. Through investigating respective genes using polymerase chain reaction, types present in each microorganism then determined. Fifty-five (61.1%) confirmed ESBL-positive by means combined disc method, 57 (63.3%) found be producers double method. From ESBLs TEM more frequently pneumoniae, while type was oxytoca.
