Data extraction One author extracted relevant each article into evidence tables. Using definitions developed by research team, two authors independently rated terms its effect size, intensity intervention, risk level, use well-proven techniques. synthesis identified 21 for review. Dietary produces modest changes self-reported consumption saturated fat, fruits vegetables, possibly fiber. More-intensive interventions more likely produce important brief interventions, but they may be difficult apply typical patients. Interventions using interactive health communications, including computer-generated telephone mail messages, can also moderate changes. Conclusions Moderate- high-intensity communication tools, reduce fat increase intake fruit vegetable. Brief unselected providers appears small behavior, outcomes is unclear.
