摘要: This study made use of the technique positron annihilation spectroscopy (PALS) to examine effect a compatibilizer additive on compatibility in blend membrane polycarbonate (PC) and poly(2-hydroxyethyl methacrylate) (PHEMA) pervaporation (PV) performance compatibilized membrane. Scanning electron microscopy (SEM) showed that consisting only PC PHEMA apparently had some extent incompatibility between component polymers. An attempt improve was done by adding graft copolymer (PC-g-PHEMA) compatibilizer. Results indicated addition this could increase as shown SEM micrographs, strengthen thermal stability based gravimetric analysis (TGA) thermograms, effectively membranes. The improvement compatibility, associated with better interfacial adhesion, correlated microstructural properties obtained from PALS, such ortho-positronium (o-Ps) lifetime intensity, free volume size distribution, fractional volume.
