Sociological research on age: legacy and challenge

摘要: The hallmark of sociology is its emphases on first, people, secondly, structures and, thirdly, their interrelationships. Similarly, we see sociological research age as concerned with (1) people over life course; (2) age-related and institutions; (3) the dynamic interplay between each influences other. Guided by our ‘aging society paradigm’, review legacy it has focused more than (2), only now understanding them (3). Hence challenge to future researchers devise strategies for analysing this possible contributions ever-accumulating legacy.
