摘要: The association between demographic history, genealogy and geographical distribution of mitochondrial DNA cytochrome b haplotypes was studied in the wood lemming (Myopus schisticolor), a species that is closely associated with boreal forest Eurasian taiga zone from Scandinavia to Pacific coast. Except for major phylogeographic discontinuity (0.9% nucleotide divergence) southeastern Siberia, only shallow regional genetic structure detected across northern Eurasia. Genetic signs expansions imply successive range contractions on different spatial scales represented primary historical events shaped patterns variation. First, south–north observed five out six Siberia Far East implies vicariant separation refugial areas. limited lineages provides no evidence importance putative area postglacial colonization Eurasia by species. Second, lack significant reciprocal monophyly signatures expansion all nine animal date most contraction each single during late Pleistocene followed continental scale. Similar this set organisms life histories dispersal potentials reflect dynamics their shared environment,
