摘要: Summary The Drosophila Trithorax-like (Trl) gene encodes a GAGA factor which regulates number of developmentally important genes. In this study, we identify new function for in male germ cell development. Trl mutants carrying strong hypomorphic alleles display loss primordial cells during their migration embryogenesis and severe disruption mitochondria structure early spermatogenesis. The mutation resulted small testes formation, deficit cells, abnormal mitochondrial morphogenesis, spermatocyte death through autophagy, partial or complete sterility. Pleiotropic effects can be explained by the misexpression target genes, products are required progression into mature sperm. genesis 52:738–751, 2014. © 2014 Wiley Periodicals, Inc.
