摘要: Large amounts of iodine-129 were, and still are, released to the environment from nuclear facilities, in particular two reprocessing facilities located at east coast North Atlantic Ocean (Sellafield La Hague). The main transport path releases is towards Northern Europe further into Arctic Ocean. Here we present data 129I concentrations observed along a transect Baltic Sea 1999. Concentration surface water samples are several orders magnitude higher than natural background level, with highest enrichment found Skagerrak basin. Three profiles taken show an increase depth. Preliminary inventory calculations suggest that major source via marine input Sea. So far this isotope do not constitute environmental hazard.
