摘要: Iodate and total inorganic iodine concentrations have been measured in near surface intermediate waters (0–200 m) of the Baltic Sea, south latitude 59°N, during August 1999. Additionally, organic-iodine was at seven selected stations 2000. Overall, iodine's behaviour is not conservative consistent with its pattern biogeochemical cycling observed elsewhere oceans coupled particular hydrographic characteristics this fjord. Thus, rationalised to salinity 35 were higher (∼0.60 μM) on bottom or about 200 m, above Deeps, presumably as a result re-mineralisation. Meanwhile, iodate more concentrated than bottom, suggesting reduction waters. Despite overall non-conservative pattern, much water body appeared mix conservatively between outside main, Darss Sill (ΣI=0.16 μM, 13 S) that within itself (ΣI=0.09 6 S). high intruding but very low behind sills (∼0.04 μM), showing little change salinities less 12. Organic generally (0.010 0.040 μM 60 m one station.
