摘要: This paper presents an incremental elastic-plastic finite element solution to the problem of small scale yielding near a crack in plane strain for non-hardening material. Emphasis is placed on design elements which allow accurate reproduction, numerical solution, detailed structure tip stress and fields, as understood from previous analytical studies singularities. Numerical results are presented for: location boundary, angular distribution strength singularity, opening displacement, ahead crack, variation stresses at tip. The latter verify Rice's prediction Prandtl field providing limiting r → 0.
