摘要: ABSTRACT Invasive group A streptococcal (GAS) infections cause significant morbidity and mortality. national survey was initiated to assess the burden of invasive GAS in France, describe their clinical characteristics, molecular characteristics strains responsible for these infections. The conducted 194 hospitals, accounting 51% acute care hospital admissions France. Clinical data, predisposing factors, demographic data were obtained, all isolates emm sequence typed. We identified 664 cases infections, with an annual incidence 3.1 per 100,000 population. case-fatality ratio 14% rose 43% case toxic shock syndrome. Bacteremia without focus (22%) skin/soft tissue (30%) most frequent presentations. Necrotizing fasciitis adults (18%) uncommon children (3%). 3 predominant types emm1, emm89, emm28, 33%, 16%, 10% isolates, respectively. emm1 type associated fatal outcomes more than adults. Six clusters identified, each cluster involving 2 due which shared identical types. Four involved eight postpartum one family a mother child, two patients nursing home. infection is severe bacterial diseases particularly persons aged ≥50 years or when
