Fatty acid composition of lymphocytes and macrophages from rats fed fiber-rich diets: A comparison between oat bran- and wheat bran-enriched diets

摘要: The effect of oat bran-(OBD) and wheat bran-enriched diets (WBD) on fatty acid composition neutral lipids phospholipids rat lymphocytes macrophages was investigated. In lymphocytes, OBD reduced the proportion palmitoleic (48%), whereas WBD by 43% raised oleic (18%), linoleic (52%), arachidonic (2.5-fold) acids. macrophages, increased palmitic (16%) (29%) acids slightly decreased (15%). WBD, however, more pronounced: It myristic (60%), stearic (24%) (63%) acids, it (30%) (2.3-fold) Neither nor modified in lymphocytes. contrast, both had a marked macrophage phospholipids. (42%) (2,4-fold) that lauric (31%), (43%), (18%) (23%) lowered (35%) (78%) Of cells, were responsive to fiber-rich aicd high turnover membranes may explain differences between cells. modifications observed due effects similar few cases: an increase total occurred decrease phospholipid.
