Penicillium marneffei Infection: Knowledge, Gaps, and Future Directions

摘要: Penicilliosis is a disease caused by Penicillium marneffei, fungus endemic to Southeast Asia. Prior the HIV/AIDS epidemic, infection was exceedingly rare, but penicilliosis currently one of most common opportunistic infections in persons with some Asian countries. This paper describes clinical manifestations, diagnosis, and epidemiology this emerging will focus on gaps our knowledge directions for future research.
