摘要: The presence of lactate oxidase was examined in eight Streptococcus species and some related bacteria. A clone (pGR002) isolated from a genomic library iniae generated Escherichia coli, containing DNA fragment spanning two genes designated lctO lctP. We show that these are likely to be involved the l-lactic acid aerobic metabolism this organism. This has been sequenced characterized. comparison deduced amino sequence LctP protein demonstrated had significant homology with l-lactate permeases other LctO S. also showed strong Aerococcus viridans NAD-independent dehydrogenases, all belonging family flavin mononucleotide-dependent α-hydroxyacid-oxidizing enzymes. Biochemical assays gene products confirm identity reveal possible role for iniae. is discussed relation growth organism response carbon source availability.
