摘要: Appreciation of the role that inflammatory mediators play in Alzheimer's disease (AD) pathogenesis continues to be hampered by two related misconceptions. The first is pathogenically significant a neurodegenerative mechanism must primary. second inflammation merely occurs clear detritis already existent pathology. present review addresses these issues showing 1) molecules and mechanisms are uniquely or significantly elevated AD brain, 2) may necessary component pathogenesis, 3) sufficient cause neurodegeneration, 4) retrospective direct clinical trials suggest therapeutic benefit conventional antiinflammatory medications slowing progress even delaying onset AD.
