摘要: Mueller matrix polarimeters (MMPs) are designed to probe the polarization properties of optical scattering processes. When using a MMP for detection, discrimination, classification, or identification task, user considers certain elements matrix. The usual way performing this task is measure full and discard unused elements. For polarimeter designs with speed, miniaturization, other constraints, it may be desirable have system reduced dimensionality that measures only important in particular application as efficiently possible. In paper, we develop framework allows partial MMPs analyzed. Quantitative metrics developed by considering geometrical relationships between space spanned occupied scene components. method generalized allow effects noise considered. results general can also used optimize complete overspecified specific tasks, well.
