摘要: There is a growing interest in the bacterial pellicle, biofilm floating at air-liquid interface. Pellicles have been well studied Gram-positive bacterium Bacillus subtilis, but far less Gram-negative bacteria, where pellicle studies mostly focused on matrix components rather than regulatory cascades involved. Several including pathogenic shown to be able form under static conditions. Here, we summarize body of knowledge about formation especially matrix. We also propose that specific biofilm, and its involves particular processes. Since this lifestyle concerns number properties undoubtedly deserve further investigation.
