摘要: Caring for the technology dependent child in home creates parental stress. Parenting children with device-based respiratory support is particularly stressful as changes this area can be immediately life threatening. A retrospective pilot study was conducted to describe perceived stressors and coping strategies of primary caregiver a tracheostomy gastrostomy. convenience sample 50 families who had that received gastrostomy past two years at our hospital invited participate. Three questionnaires were used: Impact on Family Scale (Stein & Riessman, 1980), Crisis Oriented Personal Evaluation (McCubbin, Olsen, Larsen, 1981), demographic tool. Eighteen (36%) caregivers completed questionnaires. Findings suggest themselves financially stable. However, these data also revealed believed there disruption social interactions within outside family because child's condition. Data indicate need developing care plans include respite services.
