摘要: Trichophyton tonsurans has been isolated among judo practitioners, wrestlers, and sumo wrestlers during an epidemic of tinea corporis capitis in Japan. A previous study using restriction fragment length polymorphism (RFLP) analysis the non-transcribed spacer (NTS) region ribosomal RNA gene revealed that different sources for causative fungus epidemics practitioners wrestlers. Many fungal strains have since from these sports. The present evaluated characteristics newly between July 2006 December 2010 this molecular method. PCR-RFLP MvaI AvaI was performed on 263 strains, composed 186 isolates 32 30 5 other sports, 7 family members or friends sports practitioner patients, 3 sporadic (non-epidemic) cases. Four types, NTS I, II, III, VII were detected. Of these, I most predominant, occurring 243 (92.4%). All classified as suggesting originated earlier practitioners. Thirteen II; all related to wrestling mainly Chubu Kansai areas central part Honshu island. III detected 6 one strain a case Peruvian immigrant. minimum inhibitory concentrations (MICs) terbinafine, itraconazole, fluconazole, griseofulvin 10 II 4 examined; there no differences MIC types.
