摘要: A number of cases Trichophyton tonsurans infection have been reported among sportsmen and women participating in wrestling, judo, sumo wrestling Japan, but there also sporadic reports with no history contact these sports. molecular method using restriction enzyme analysis PCR-amplified fragments targeting the non-transcribed spacer region (NTS) ribosomal RNA gene fungal nuclei was applied to T. strains isolated from Japan. Five 6 types recorded i.e., NTS I, II, IV, V, VI, two new types, designated VII VIII, were observed 10 cases. The IV strains, considered not be related present epidemic, found most prevalent type accounting for 4 isolated. I current epidemic it cultured only one patient who later noted daughter a retired judo practitioner. Four subjects had histories living abroad infected outside VII. results this study suggested that originally Japan at low incidence, has recent influx abroad, which accompanied by secondary spread wrestlers practitioners martial arts general community.
