摘要: In a randomised double-blind trial conducted between 1990 and 1994, 616 patients from 43 centres, pefloxacin (group P, 316 patients) cefazolin-oxacillin combination C, 300 were compared in the prophylaxis of bone infection after grade 1 2 open leg fractures. Samples obtained at emergency, before during surgery, drain aspirates. Antimicrobial susceptibility, slime production adherence properties bacteria tested. Cultures emergency surgery showed similar distributions gram-positive gram-negative both groups, while wound closure infecting isolates prevailing group P C. Positive cultures each stage correlated with occurrence but not predictive species, which nosocomial most cases. warn higher risk. Twenty-one (6.6%) 24 (8%) C considered infected within 3 months. The difference is significant (chi-square test = 0.42; 0.51). Infecting strains isolated 38 18; 20). although predictable, appear to be those escaping spectrum prescribed antimicrobial prophylaxis.
