摘要: Transplanted adult bone marrow-derived cells (BMDCs) have been shown to adopt the phenotype and function of several nonhematopoietic cell lineages promote tumorigenesis. Beyond its cancer enhancing potential, fusion has recently emerged as an explanation how BMDCs regenerate diseased heptocytes, contribute Purkinje neurons skeletal cardiac muscle cells, participate in skin heart regeneration. Although epithelial also observed intestine, a mechanism not investigated. Here, we show that transplanted fuse with both normal neoplastic intestinal epithelium. Long-term repopulation by donor-derived was detected all principal including enterocytes, goblet Paneth enteroendocrine suggesting partners are long-lived progenitors or stem cells. Fusion epithelium did result tumor initiation. Our findings suggest unexpected role for regeneration tumorigenesis intestine.
