摘要: Prospective memory (PM) is the ability to remember carry out an intention when appropriate cue occurs. This study aimed investigate whether superior parietal cortex causally involved in PM and, if so, what its functional role. We applied repetitive transcranial magnetic stimulation (rTMS) left and right cortex, we evaluated TMS effects on two different tasks that required direct attention towards either external stimuli ('Monitoring-load' task) or ('Retrospective-load' task). rTMS of produced a facilitation performance both tasks. was coupled by slower responses ongoing activity, for stimulation, but selectively 'Retrospective-load' condition. The present results suggest biasing top-down attentional resources between external, internal, intentions. possible physiological mechanisms underlying TMS-related improvement are discussed.
