摘要: Abstract. To assess the regional multi-decadal to multi-centennial climate variability along the southern Iberian Peninsula during mid- late-Holocene record of paleo-environmental indicators from marine sediments were established for two sites in Alboran Sea (ODP-161-976A) and Gulf Cadiz (GeoB5901-2). High-resolution records organic geochemical properties planktic foraminiferal assemblages are used decipher precipitation vegetation changes as well hydrological conditions with respect to sea surface temperature (SST) primary productivity (MPP). As a proxy for precipitation change, plant-derived n -alkane composition suggest series of five distinct dry episodes southern Iberia at 5.4±0.3 ka cal BP, 5.1 to 4.9±0.1 4.8 4.7±0.1 4.4 4.3±0.1 3.7±0.1 ka cal BP. During each episode the vegetation suffered reduced water availability. Interestingly, phase from 4.4 ka cal BP is followed by rapid shift towards wetter conditions revealing more complex pattern terms its timing duration than was described for 4.2 ka event other regions. The closely connected Sea probably driven NAO-like (North Atlantic Oscillation) variability. In contrast, waters of Cadiz appear have responded directly North cooling associated with Bond events. particular, events 3 4, pronounced increase in seasonality summer warming winter found.
