摘要: Results of measurement urinary steroid metabolite profile using gas chromatographic analysis in eight patients with adrenocortical tumors, i. e. 3 adenomas Cushing's Syndrome, one adenoma virilization, without clinical manifestations, carcinoma syndrome and feminization, endocrinological symptoms, are reported. A unique pattern dominated by 5β 11β-hydroxy metabolites was confirmed five consisting three cases two carcinomas. Excessive 3α, 17α, 21-trihydroxy-5β-pregnan-20-one (tetrahydro-11-deoxycortisol, THS) Δ5-pregnene-3β, 11α, 20α-triol (Δ5-pregnenetriol) values were found all carcinomas including a nonfunctional carcinoma. These findings would strongly suggest the tumor to be carcinoma, although excessive excretion THS Δ5-pregnenetriol detected patient large associated virilization. One responsive ACTH stimulation while remainder show almost no response exogenous ACTH. Urinary profiling analysis, especially for 5-pregnenetriol, appears useful method use detecting these metabolic characteristics
