摘要: The discovery that cancer could be induced in chickens by filtered subcellular or acellular tumor extracts launched the beginning of viral oncology early 20th century (Rous, 1910). Although it was not known how filterable material malignancies animals, word “virus” (Latin = poison slime) coined 1890s for agents were causally associated with tumors. first virus tumors thus designated as Rous sarcoma (RSV) after its discoverer Peyton 1911). However, took several decades before this recognized a prototype RNA-containing viruses.
