摘要: : The role of predation on the endangered blackbuck antelope (Antelope cervicapra) by Indian wolf (Canis lupus pallipes) in Velavadar National Park, Gujarat, India, was evaluated terms ratios predator to prey. Food habits wolves were determined from scat analysis and direct observation. Consumption estimated unutilized portions kills. Wolves preyed primarily (88% biomass consumption), rodents, hares (Lepus nigricollis). consumed 4.62 (S.E. 0.11) kg/wolf/kill made kills at an interval 3.5 0.5) days. Daily consumption 1.33 kg/wolf. number killed annually per between 35 39. Between 142 158 considered essential maintain a stable population. Managing grassland habitat annual removal exotic shrub Prosopis juliflora, minimizing human disturbance kills, reducing feral dogs some ways ensure continued viability this wolf-blackbuck system. Resumen: El rol de la predacion sobre el antilope Antelope cervicapra en peligro extincion por lobo India extincion, Parque Nacional Velavandar, Guajarat, fue evaluada terminos proporcion predador: presa.
