摘要: Summary Background: In Asian countries, many patients with a prominent mandibular angle desire its correction, because they consider it to be an unappealing feature. Reduction mandibuloplasty has been frequently performed through the intraoral approach, but invisible forces surgeon perform blind ostectomy. addition, limited mobility of oscillating saw leads semi-vertical ostectomy, and leaves unnatural contours, such as loss angle. Methods: To overcome drawbacks conventional procedures, we en bloc corpus-angle ostectomy using contra-angle handpiece subsequent corticectomy in 519 angles. A retractor endoscope was supportively used 190 patients. pre- postoperative cephalogram taken 86 patients, gonial (GA) plane Frankfort horizontal (MPA) were measured. Results: The majority satisfied aesthetic results. GA MPA increased by approximately 10 . successfully improved within pre-set desired range 84.5% 60.0% female male respectively. overall complication rate 4.0%; all these minor complications, no major malfracture or facial nerve injury seen. Conclusions: Our new technique allows surgeons accurate, safe reproducible ostectomies reshape angles more natural-looking ones smooth ostectomised borders.
