Electromagnetic field profile of an excitonic polariton in a quantum wire waveguide

摘要: The refractive index related to the excitonic polariton in a GaAs quantum wire is calculated numerically. maximum value of real part as large 5.6 when width 5 nm. This results from binding energy exciton confined quasi-one-dimensional structure. electromagnetic field transmitted such structure therefore squeezed significantly because wavelength reduced by increase. estimated full at half-maximum (FWHM) light power typically small 67 nm, although transmission loss fairly high. However, can be selecting an appropriate wavelength, while keeping FWHM profile small. These indicate possibility making extremely optical devices.
