摘要: To our knowledge, this is the first demonstration of in vivo depth-resolved birefringence measurements human retinal nerve fiber layer (RNFL) by use polarization-sensitive optical coherence tomography (PS-OCT). Because glaucoma causes damage, which may cause loss birefringence, PS-OCT a potentially useful technique for early detection glaucoma. We built fiber-based setup that produces quasi-real-time images retina vivo. Preliminary healthy volunteer showed double-pass phase retardation per unit depth RNFL near optic head 39±6°/100 µm.
