摘要: We have used intraocular sulphur hexafluoride or liquid silicone as an adjunct to vitreous surgery in the treatment of a non-randomised sequential series 19 eyes with retinal detachment complicated by proliferative vitreoretinopathy. studied surgical results and complications these two tamponades drawn preliminary conclusions on their use reattachment surgery. After seven-month minimum follow-up 13 (68%) reattached retinas. Six (60%) 10 treated only retinas, four (67%) six gas tamponade An additional three initially oil subsequently developed detachments; all were successfully after removal. Intraoperative pneumatic assess relief traction combined production widespread chorioretinal adhesions wall off persistent anterior detachment, well extended postoperative retina, appears enhance Silicone retina be useful cases where cannot entirely relieved patients who are unable tolerate head positioning required for effective retina. A controlled clinical study recently begun will define further precise role methods tamponade.
