摘要: Hunting is a major threat to the endangered jaguar in Brazil. Effective interventions for conservation demand better understanding of prevalence and motivations hunting. In this study, I investigate hunting potential factors driving acceptance behaviour among residents two extractive reserves eastern Brazilian Amazonia. Between September October 2013, surveyed 134 households assess people’s predictors using multiple-item rating scales. To estimate hunting, used direct questioning randomized response technique. Acceptance was neutral slightly positive on average, being related negatively educational level perceptions risk suffering sanctions positively perception jaguars as humans. The rates were 9% 23% according technique, respectively. results suggest that investments education law enforcement may help decrease local support study area.
