摘要: N-acetylcysteine (NAC), a glutamate-modulating agent with antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties, has been considered as potential anti-addictive drug. Beneficial effects were reported for cocaine, cannabis, tobacco addicts, but the effect of NAC in alcoholics or alcohol animal models is unknown. The aggravation withdrawal symptoms, such anxiety, associated increased levels serum corticosterone leptin. Thus, aim this study was to assess on well leptin levels, after cessation chronic treatment rats. Male Wistar rats treated 2 g/kg ethanol, twice daily, by gavage 30 days; control animals received an appropriate dose glucose balance caloric intake. Rats 4 days (60 90 mg/kg, intra-peritoneally [i.p.]) saline cessation. Twenty-four hours last treatment, exposed 5-min session open-field test (OF). Corticosterone determined ELISA samples collected within min OF. Results showed that hypoactive (decreased rearing, peripheral, total crossings), 5 Four prevented behavioral biochemical changes brought about We suggest that, addition properties other drugs abuse, potentially useful management withdrawal.
