摘要: BACKGROUND Observational studies suggest an inverse association between selenium and risk of prostate cancer. However, randomized controlled trials supplementation have reported conflicting results. Thus, we examined plasma selenium-related genes in relation to high-grade cancer recurrence among men initially diagnosed with non-metastatic disease. METHODS We measured genotyped 73 single nucleotide polymorphisms TXNRD1, TXNRD2, GPX1, GPX3, GPX4, SEP15, SEPP1, SELENBP1, OGG1, CAT 568 who underwent radical prostatectomy. We associations selenium, genotypes, (Gleason grade ≥8 or 7 primary score ≥4; n = 111) using logistic regression, (61 events; 3.8 y median follow-up) Cox proportional hazards regression. RESULTS Plasma was not associated recurrence. Less common alleles rs11913319 TXNRD2 rs125701 OGG1 were increased observed the multiple SNPs SEP15. These no longer statistically significant after adjustment for comparisons. CONCLUSIONS Among cancer, there is suggestive evidence that genetic variation selenoproteins related antioxidant enzymes may be disease at diagnosis Prostate 75:60–69, 2015. © 2014 Wiley Periodicals, Inc.
