Isolation and characterization of a rice mutant insensitive to cool temperatures on amylose synthesis

摘要: The Wx b gene, one of the alleles at rice waxy(wx) locus, is activated cool temperatures during seed development, andas a result, large amount amylose accumulated causing reductionin grain quality. We found that seeds du mutant couldbe visibly distinguished depending on whether they matured ornormal temperatures. Using these characteristics, we isolated mutantcandidate insensitive to While content inthe original line was about 2% normal temperature (28 °C)and 12% (21 °C), in candidate(coi) not affected by temperatures, i.e. theamylose 3% both This finding incombination with results an immunoblot analysis indicated theabsence increase this caused bya constant level Wx gene expression and cooltemperature.
