摘要: Objective  To evaluate the efficacy of a chemically modified and cross-linked derivative hyaluronan (CMHA-SX) for treatment corneal epithelial abrasion standardized alkali burn injuries. Animals  Twelve female New Zealand white rabbits in two groups were used. Procedures  Bilateral 6-mm diameter abrasions made each six one group injuries second group. A 1% CMHA-SX formulation was applied topically four times per day right eye rabbit 1 week, phosphate buffered saline (PBS) placed left (control) rabbit. The wound size determined by staining with fluorescein photographed at slit lamp digital camera 0, 1, 2, 3 days postoperatively first 3, 7, 12 days Rabbit corneas collected histological examination on 7 12 group. Results  Closure model complete treated 48 h. closure rate thickness central epithelium greater than control eyes both injuries. Moreover, cornea exhibited better stromal organization untreated cornea. Conclusions  Chemically improved healing could be useful treating noninfectious
