摘要: Insulin resistance in skeletal muscle tissues and diabetes-related weakness are serious pathophysiological problems of increasing medical importance. In order to determine global changes the protein complement contractile due diabetes mellitus, mass-spectrometry-based proteomics has been applied investigation diabetic muscle. This review summarizes findings from recent proteomic surveys preparations patients established animal models type 2 diabetes. The potential impact novel biomarkers diabetes, such as metabolic enzymes molecular chaperones, is critically examined. Disease-specific signature molecules may be useful for our understanding cellular mechanisms insulin possibly identify new therapeutic options that counteract abnormalities peripheral organ systems. Importantly, biomedical establishment promises accelerate development improved diagnostic procedures characterizing individual stages disease progression, including early detection prediabetic complications.
