Formation of Texture in Co/Cr Films for Perpendicular Magnetic Recording

摘要: Texture formation in sputter deposited Co/Cr films is investigated dependence on film thickness and substrate temperature by means of electron microscopy, diffraction, X-ray magnetic measurements. In at 350 K texture forms very rapidly within a transition layer about 50 nm beginning already the noncontinuous growth stages below 10 nm. higher temperatures (up to 550 K) much slower combined with smaller grain size continuous film. The corresponding thicker causes large in-plane component magnetization which essentially degrades suitability such for perpendicular recording. interpreted as selection process driven free energy contributions from surfaces, interfaces, boundaries. Die Texturbildung gesputterten Co/Cr-Schichten wird Abhangigkeit von Schichtdicke und Substrattemperatur mittels Elektronenmikroskopie, Elektronenbeugung, Rontgenbeugung magnetischen Messungen untersucht. Schichten, die bei abgeschieden werden, bildet sich Textur sehr schnell innerhalb einer Ubergangsschicht etwa nm, wobei bereits im diskontinuierlichen Schichtstadium unter beginnt. auf heisen Substraten (≈550 abgeschiedenen Schichten erfolgt wesentlich langsamer. Die ist entsprechend dicker verursacht grosere „in-plane”-Komponenten der Magnetisierung, ungunstig fur eine Anwendung als Senkrechtspeichermedium sind.
