摘要: To define the risk factors related to occurrence of fungemia in children infected with human immunodeficiency virus (HIV), we performed a matched case-control study. During 6-year period (1987-1993), developed 22 (6.3%) 347 HIV-infected observed at Pediatric Branch National Cancer Institute. Each these cases was by age and gender three controls. Multiple logistic regression indicated that best predictor this population presence central venous catheter placed for > 90 days (P 30 antibiotic treatment, bacterial infections, hospital, hypoalbuminemia, C3 (Centers Disease Control Prevention) classification HIV infection, malnourishment. We conclude prolonged placement catheters is most important further influenced antibacterial therapy, manipulation, host response.
