摘要: The Human Toxicity Potential (HTP) is a quantita tive toxic equivalency potential (TEP) that has been introduced previously to express the harm of unit chemical released into environment. HTP includes both inherent toxicity and generic source-to-dose relationships for pollutant emissions. Three issues associated with use in Life Cycle Impact Assessment (LCIA) are evaluated here. First regional multimedia models define HTP. Second uncertainty variability sourceto-dose calculations. And third model performance evaluation TEP models. Using as case study, we consider important sources uncertainty/variability development — including parameter variability/uncertainty, uncertainty, decision rule uncertainty. Once made explicit, appropriate useful thus introduced. Model can illustrate relative value increasing complexity, assembling more data, and/or providing explicit representation This work reveals an understanding TEPs well needed a) refine target assessment process b) improve making.
